Jashn-e-Sahil (Balochistan Coastal Area), Gawadar

Pakistan was created with the partition of British India. Within a short span of time the country has made commendable progress in almost all spheres of life. Due to the constant conflict with its neighboring nation, India, the sphere that has seen maximum development is the army and the navy. The Pakistani people celebrate the glory of their army and navy through several festivals and exhibitions. The Jashn-e-Sahil (Balochistan Coastal Area), Gawadar is one such festival that celebrates the glory of the Pakistani naval fleet.
Balochistan lies towards the southern part of the country, along the coast of the Arabian Sea. It is held at Gwadar. This small town is located in the southwestern coast of Pakistan near the Strait of Hormuz. Gwadar is famous for the deep sea port. This port at Gwadar is supposed to generate a revenue of billions of dollars. It also creates employment opportunities for thousands of people.

This is a very important and busy sea port of Pakistan. Hence the annual exhibition of the naval fleet of Pakistan takes place here. During the Jashn-e-Sahil (Balochistan Coastal Area), huge crowds from all over the country gather at Gwadar. All the new inclusions to the fleet in the Pakistani navy is exhibited during this festival. The naval ship which are not accessible for the common crowd are made accessible to them during this festival. Jashn-e-Sahil (Balochistan Coastal Area), Gawadar, is held every year in the months of September or October. This year, it is going to be held between 15th to 20th of October.
